Will Connecticut minimum fair wage for January 1, 2028 be above $18.00 per hour?

If the June 2027 BLS Employment Cost Index value used under Connecticut General Statutes §31-58 produces a Connecticut minimum fair wage for January 1, 2028 that is above $18.00 per hour, then the market resolves to Yes. Under Connecticut law, the January 1, 2028 rate is determined by the 12-month percentage change in the applicable ECI through June 30, 2027, with the resulting wage rounded to the nearest cent. Resolution uses the 12-month percent change ending June 2027, not seasonally adjusted, for wages and salaries for all civilian workers. The January 1, 2028 minimum wage is calculated by applying that percentage change to the January 1, 2027 Connecticut minimum wage of $17.48 and rounding the resulting hourly wage to the nearest cent, consistent with Connecticut General Statutes §31-58. The market does not rely on the timing or wording of a subsequent Connecticut government announcement.
