The following situations qualify as leaving the conference: Maryland College Football Team or the Big Ten officially announces during the stated time period that Maryland College Football Team will leave the Big Ten, even if the departure takes effect after the stated time period. Maryland College Football Team executes a binding agreement to leave the Big Ten during the stated time period, regardless of the effective date. Maryland College Football Team provides formal notice of withdrawal from the Big Ten during the stated time period. Maryland College Football Team and the Big Ten execute an exit agreement or other binding settlement ending Maryland College Football Team's membership during the stated time period. Maryland College Football Team ceases competing in conference-sanctioned competition during the stated time period. Maryland College Football Team's membership in the Big Ten becomes effective as terminated, expires, or is otherwise ended during the stated time period, as determined by official conference records. The Big Ten expels or otherwise removes Maryland College Football Team from membership during the stated time period.
